The Silent Wish Concert

The Silent Wish Concert

About your Event: The Silent Wish isn’t just a big moment for McBirnie and Senensky; it’s a crucial flashpoint for today’s jazz itself. Melodies stay firmly where McBirnie’s flute is leading them. The experimental Glow comes from Senensky. This is physical music at its most surreal. Bill McBirnie proves a passionate and eloquent improviser with sure-footed support from veteran pianist Bernie Senensky. The dynamic duo of pianist and flutist levitates any room, and dips gleefully into the Brazilian songbook. A joyous quality fills McBirnie’s range of grooves, from bop and bossa to gospel and swing…you will be amazed at his imagination and originality.

Port Perry Walk for Guide Dogs

Port Perry Walk for Guide Dogs

About your Event: “The 2nd annual Port Perry Walk for Dog Guides will be back in Palmer Park on May 26th!

Last year, the key word was fun! 200+ walkers experienced beautiful Port Perry and then the dog friendly Old Flame microbrewery. New this year is a photo booth at registration, a gelato bar courtesy of the Perfect Scoop and a special barrel of beer at the Old Flame. Registration starts at 10:00am at the gazebo in Palmer Park. The walk starts promptly at 11:00am. You do not need a dog to walk, but our furry friends are welcome to join!

Thanks to our sponsors, 100% of the funds raised from the Walk go directly towards the raising, training and placement of Dog Guides for Canadians with medical or physical disabilities. Dog Guides Canada has already provided specially trained Dog Guides to more than 2764 men, women and children, all without any government funding. With your help more people will experience the mobility, safety and independence a devoted Dog Guide brings.”
