Borelians Community Theatre
Borelians Community Theatre presents...
Dancing at Lughnasa!
Dancing at Lughnasa, by Brian Friel, is set in a small Irish village in 1936. The play tells the story of five sisters, as remembered by the narrator, Michael, the illegitimate son of one of the women. The appearance of both Michael's charming father and his missionary uncle has an impact on the quiet lives of the whole family. Everyone is unaware, as the summer passes, that this may be the last time they celebrate the festival of Lughnasa before their lives are changed forever.
Dancing at Lughnasa, winner of both the 1992 Tony and Critics' Choice Awards, will be directed by Conrad Boyce. Mr. Boyce is well known locally as founder of Uxbridge Musical Theatre, directing and appearing in many of their productions. He has also been involved with the Uxbridge Players and Scugog Choral Society as both director and performer. Dancing at Lughnasa will be Mr. Boyce's directorial debut with the Borelians.
