The Port Perry BIA is the sole owner of the information collected on this Web site. We will not sell, share or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement. The Port Perry BIA collects information from our users at four points on our Web site.
a) Sign Up for News
We request information from the user on our Sign Up for News subscriber form. Here a user must provide contact information.
The Port Perry BIA email lists reside in a secure listserv. Therefore, email addresses are never copied into an email address line for other recipients to see. Only the Port Perry BIA and Taalwood Media Services (our Web master) have access to view the email addresses of our subscribers. We do not share, sell or lend this list with any other individual company.

d) Add an Event
The Port Perry BIA offers our users the ability to add an event to the Web site. Events will be posted once approved by selected personnel of the Port Perry BIA. The Port Perry BIA collects certain information to ensure the appropriate follow-up, contact and to validate specifics.

2. Cookies
A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's hard drive containing information about the user. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on our Web site. However, the Port Perry BIA does not use cookies in any part of the Web site.
3. Web Activity (Log) Files
We use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track user's movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information. On occasion, the Port Perry BIA log file data (such as the number of subscribers we serve) may be used for promotional purposes. Information that personally identifies you will be kept strictly confidential.
4. Sharing
We will share aggregated demographic information with our partners and advertisers. This is not linked to any personal information that can identify any individual person.
5. Security
This Web site takes every precaution to protect our users' information. When users submit sensitive information via our Web site, your information is protected both online and off-line.
We also do everything in our power to protect user information off-line. All of our users' information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, verification of Events) are granted access to personally identifiable information. Our employees must use password-protected screen-savers when they leave their desk. When they return, they must re-enter their password to regain access to your information. Furthermore, ALL employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices.

6. Special Offers
We send all subscribers a welcoming email. Established subscribers will occasionally receive information on offers, announcements such as special events, opening and closing dates and specials. Users who no longer wish to receive our promotional materials may opt-out of receiving these communications by replying to unsubscribe in the subject line in the email or email us at unsubscribe@discoverportperry.ca.
