Durham Forest

The Durham Regional Forest Main Tract is comprised of plantation forests established over 90 years ago, as well as mixed hardwood areas.

There are over 16 kilometres of trails in four loops, as well as numerous secondary trails throughout the main tract of Durham Forest which provide an opportunity for hiking, biking, horseback riding or skiing on the rolling topography of the Oak Ridges Moraine.

Great Blue Heron Casino 

The casino started as a vision of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation. Their goal was to provide an economic development plan to foster opportunity and advancement for the First Nation people, which turned into a reality through an agreement with Casinos Austria International and its local partners, the Steiner Group and Sonco Gaming Inc, who developed and operate the casino on their behalf.

Scugog Shores Museum Village 

Located on the south end of beautiful Scugog Island, the Village features eleven restored buildings including Head Church and Cemetery, Head School, the blacksmith, print shop, woodwright and harness shop and heritage vegetable and herb gardens. Thousands of original artifacts, donated by the community, are on display throughout the village.
